COURSE Philosophy
The philosophy of the course Pathway and routes is to provide students with a course of study offering a coherent balance between prescription and choice, coverage and specialisation. The modules available on the pathway give students the opportunity to study Business Management, Business Computing, Software Development and Internet Systems Development from both conceptual and vocational perspectives.
COURSE STRUCTURE
The course is run over 3 Years for full-time students. In the first year you study 4-6 modules from QCF level 4, in the second year 4-6 QCF level 5 modules, and in the final (3rd Year) year 4-6 QCF level 6 modules.
1. Post Graduate Diploma PGD- (QCF Level 7)
2. Graduate Diploma 3rd year (QCF Level 6)
3. Graduate Diploma 2nd year (QCF Level 5)
4. Graduate Diploma 1st year (QCF Level 4)
Modules
In order to meet the stated aims and objectives of the pathway and provide students with a coherent balance between dictated and chosen study, and to remain within the parameters of the modular programme, a distinction is made between three types of module;
Core Modules
Core modules are compulsory for all students on the pathway.
Optional Modules
As the name indicates these modules are non-compulsory. You may select from a range of modules on the computing pathway in order to make up an appropriate number of modules.
Module Assessment
Most modules at each level are assessed by two to four (2-4) submissions of coursework/assignments and one final exam. To pass a module student must achieve at least 50% marks in total.
